How to polish hard floors

Use one of our Windmill floor polishing chemicals to achieve great results when polishing hard floors.

You will need:

  • 13-POLAP Polish Applicator
  • 13-HP19 Oblong bucket
  • 15-605 Wet floor signs
  • Plus one of the Windmill polishes listed below:

03-891 18% High Solids Emulsion Polish 300sqm² per 5L

A metallised polish for strength and durability coupled with ease of removability. Non-yellowing cross linked polymer film. Does not discolour even the lightest floor.

Produces a deep shine with excellent slip resistance. Responds brilliantly to all spray burnishing techniques.

For all linoleum, P.V.C., rubber, sealed cork, sealed wood, terrazzo and thermoplastic floors. 

N.B. Not suitable for unsealed wood, unsealed cork or laminate flooring. 

Always try the chemical in a test area first. For commercial use only.

03-280 Windmill Relay 25% Super High Solids Emulsion Polish 300sqm² per 5L

A metallised polish for extreme strength and durability coupled with ease of removability.

Non-yellowing cross linked polymer film. Does not discolour even the lightest floor. Produces a deep shine with excellent slip resistance. Responds brilliantly to all spray burnishing techniques.

For all linoleum, PVC, rubber, sealed cork, sealed wood, terrazzo and thermoplastic floors.

N.B. Not suitable for unsealed wood, unsealed cork or laminate flooring. Always try the chemical in a test area first.

For commercial use only.

03-899 Windmill Endurance High Gloss Floor Polish - 350sqm² per 5L

Incredibly tough floor polish is ideal for fast dry, low maintenance situations. 

Its high performance acrylic polymers and tight cross-linking produce a beautiful, long-lasting shine that resists black marking and scuffing. 

For use with non-buff and high speed systems. 

Always try the chemical in a test area first. For commercial use only.

Method:

  1. Ensure floor is completely clean and free from old polish, strip floor first if needed (click here for more information on stripping polish from flooring).
  2. Ensure the floor is completely dry.
  3. Pour some polish into the oblong bucket.
  4. Using the applicator, apply the polish in a thin even coat applying north-south direction.
  5. Allow to dry for approximately 30 mins.
  6. Apply another thin coat, this time in the east-west direction, apply at least two coats, 
    but can use up to 5 coats.
  7. Allow to fully cure (24hours) before heavy use.
